Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets, chopped
  • 2 cups fresh cauliflower florets, chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds or sliced almonds

Dressing

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar or honey
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare Vegetables: Wash and dry the broccoli and cauliflower. Chop into bite-sized pieces.
  • Mix Salad Base: In a large bowl, combine broccoli, cauliflower, cheese, red onion, bacon, and sunflower seeds.
  • Make the Dressing: Whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  • Combine: Pour the dressing over the salad and toss until everything is evenly coated.
  • Chill and Serve: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, swap mayonnaise with Greek yogurt.
  • Omit bacon for a vegetarian option.
