Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken shredded or diced
  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 1 cup buffalo sauce
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup green onions, chopped optional garnish
  • ¼ cup blue cheese crumbles optional

Instructions

  • Cook the Pasta: Boil the penne pasta in salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Prepare the Sauce: In a spacious skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Incorporate the minced garlic and sauté until it becomes aromatic, which should take approximately 1 minute.
  • Combine Ingredients: Stir in the buffalo sauce, heavy cream, chicken broth, and paprika. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Add Cheese: Gradually stir in the cheddar cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth.
  • Incorporate Chicken: Add the cooked chicken to the skillet, tossing to coat evenly in the sauce.
  • Combine Pasta: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and stir well to ensure everything is evenly coated.
  • Serve by adding green onions and, if preferred, sprinkle with blue cheese crumbles. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

    • For less heat, reduce the amount of buffalo sauce or use a milder brand.
    • This recipe works well with rotisserie chicken for added convenience.
