Ingredients

  • 1 cuo Unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup White granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Packed brown sugar
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups Semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C)—line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  • In a large bowl, cream the softened butter with both white and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and then add the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until everything is well combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a wooden spoon or spatula. Make sure the chips are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Form Cookies: Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie to allow for spreading.
  • Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers remain soft. Avoid overbaking for a chewy texture.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • You can chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies.
  • For a crispier texture, bake an additional 2 minutes.
