Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning or homemade blend
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 8 small tortillas corn or flour
  • Toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes grated cheese, sour cream, salsa, cilantro, lime wedges

Instructions

  • Put the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and add the garlic and onions, sautĂ©ing until they release their aroma.
  • Incorporate the ground beef, using a spoon to break it into smaller pieces, and cook until it achieves a browned appearance.
  • Mix in the taco seasoning along with water, allowing the mixture to simmer for five minutes until it reaches a thicker consistency.
  • Warm the tortillas in either a dry skillet or the microwave.
  • Construct the tacos by placing the beef mixture into the tortillas and adding your preferred toppings.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, use lean ground beef or substitute with ground turkey.
  • Make it gluten-free by using corn tortillas.
