Ingredients

  • 200g High-quality dark chocolate 70% cocoa or higher
  • 50g White chocolate optional, for drizzle
  • 1/4 cup Chopped pistachios
  • 1/4 cup Chopped almonds
  • 1/4 cup Dried dates, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Ground cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp Sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  • Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or microwave, stirring until it is smooth and creamy.
  • Incorporate spices and mix-ins by adding ground cardamom, cinnamon, and a pinch of sea salt for an aromatic Middle Eastern flavor.
  • Incorporate Nuts and Fruits: Gently fold in the chopped pistachios, almonds, and dates to ensure they are evenly distributed throughout the chocolate mixture.
  • Spread and Shape: Pour the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spreading it into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Drizzle melted white chocolate over the dark chocolate layer for a beautiful contrast.
  • Let the chocolate set at room temperature, or refrigerate it for faster results.
  • Once it has set and hardened, break it into bars.

Notes

  • Substitute half of the dark chocolate with milk chocolate for a softer texture.
  • Adjust spices according to taste—a hint of saffron adds a unique, luxurious touch.
